1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using DetectAI ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. License Grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:

• Download and install the App on devices you own or control
• Use the App for your personal, non-commercial purposes
• Access and use the features and services provided by the App

3. Subscription Terms

DetectAI offers auto-renewable subscriptions with the following terms:

• Payment: Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
• Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• Renewal Charge: Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
• Price: Renewal will be charged at the same price, unless we notify you of a price change in advance

3.3 Managing Your Subscription

• Manage: You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID Account Settings
• Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time, effective at the end of the current billing period
• No Refunds: No refunds for partial subscription periods
• Restore: Use "Restore Purchases" to restore subscriptions on new devices

3.4 Free Tier (Not a Trial)

DetectAI provides a permanent free tier with limited usage:

• Free Text Analysis: 10 analyses per user (permanent, not a trial)
• Free Image Analysis: 5 analyses per user (permanent, not a trial)
• No Subscription Required: Free tier does not require payment or subscription
• Premium Features: Document analysis, video analysis, and unlimited usage require a paid subscription

Note: We do not currently offer free trial periods for paid subscriptions. When you subscribe, you will be charged immediately.

4. Use Restrictions

You agree NOT to:

• Use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices from the App
• Use the App to violate any laws or regulations
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's servers or networks
• Use the App to transmit malware, viruses, or harmful code
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App
• Use the App for commercial purposes without our written permission
• Share your subscription access with unauthorized users

5. Content Ownership & Rights

5.1 Your Content

• Ownership: You retain all rights to content you submit for analysis
• License to Us: By submitting content, you grant us a limited license to process it for analysis purposes only
• No Storage: We do not store your submitted content after analysis (see Privacy Policy)
• Responsibility: You are responsible for ensuring you have rights to analyze submitted content

5.2 Our Content

• Intellectual Property: The App and all its content, features, and functionality are owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws
• Trademarks: DetectAI name, logo, and related marks are our trademarks
• No Transfer: These Terms do not transfer any ownership rights to you

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Key points:

• Local Storage: All analysis results stored locally on your device
• Anonymous Authentication: Anonymous user identifiers are used to track free tier usage across app reinstalls. No personal information, email addresses, or account credentials are collected
• Usage Tracking: Free analysis usage counts (e.g., 3 of 10 text analyses used) are stored in Firebase to prevent free tier abuse
• AI Processing: Content sent to AI services only for analysis
• Analytics: Anonymous usage analytics collected via Firebase

9. Termination

9.1 By You

You may stop using the App and cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID Account Settings.

9.2 By Us

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App immediately, without notice, if you:

• Violate these Terms
• Engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
• Abuse or misuse the App

9.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

• Your right to use the App ceases immediately
• You must delete the App from all devices
• Subscription charges stop at the end of the current billing period
• No refunds for partial periods

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do:

• We'll post the updated Terms with a new "Last updated" date
• We'll notify you of material changes through the App or email
• Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance
• If you don't agree to changes, stop using the App and cancel your subscription

11. Third-Party Services

The App uses third-party services for AI analysis and other features:

• Google Gemini API: For AI content detection and analysis
• Firebase Services: For analytics, crash reporting, and configuration
• Apple App Store: For subscription and payment processing

Use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

12.2 Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

12.3 Apple Terms

For users who download the App from the Apple App Store, the following additional terms apply:

• These Terms are between you and us, not Apple
• Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance
• Apple is not responsible for the App or its content
• You must comply with Apple's terms and conditions
• Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms
